Meet Our Pastors
Jason Mabry is a native Texan, but spent most of his life in Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University, so he bleeds orange and black. Jason received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. It was in Texas where he met his wife Chrissy. They were married in 2012 and have two wonderful daughters, Evangeline and Eliana. Jason’s vision for ministry is twofold. The first is to see the Church of Jesus Christ develop a deep theological understanding of Scripture which stirs its affections for Him. The second is to see this stirring result in an outpouring of selfless compassionate evangelistic ministry, both locally and globally.
Jason believes church is not a club or place to be seen, but is a group of people doing life together, both in fellowship and in evangelism. The weekly gathering is about being equipped to do the work of sharing the good news of the forgiveness of sin and restoration with God that can be found in Jesus with those who don’t know. We also gather to encourage, edify, and to admonish each other. Our gatherings are not limited to Sunday morning only, but also weekly prayer meeting, men and women’s Bible studies, children and youth activities. We’d love to meet you and have you become a member of our church family.

Pastor Steve Ewing
Youth & Children’s Pastor
When most people think of youth ministry, they think of pizza, bowling, lock-ins and skating. Here at First Southern in Stockton we do those things, but we believe there needs to be a balance between recreation and discipleship.
On Sunday evenings the kids have plenty to do with great Mission Friends where they learn about different missionaries and ways to be missionaries themselves.
We have Sunday School classes for all ages as well as children’s church for two different age groups every Sunday morning during our regular worship time. Our youth group meets at 5:00 pm every Sunday evening and again at 7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings.
We want to apply God’s Word to our daily lives and the only way to do that is to study it as much as possible and then put it into practice. My prayer is that our youth ministry here last far beyond the age of 18.
